Be careful-listen Your Baby

I already downloaded with disbelief the idea that children can actually hear and understand their parents before they are born, or even in their sleep. Even though parents want to believe that a child kicks their Mother because they were heard Dad's voice, the distance between the reality of a wishful thinking seems large.

Well ... you e not so remote after all. As a result of recent research scientists at King's College London have been examined, as babies ' brains respond to sounds while they slept. Functional MRI scanner are used, it shall be sufficient to prevent their waking the silence. 21 infants in this study were aged between 3 and 7.

This research has identified very interesting insights. They found, for example, by comparing the babies ' responses to non-verbal communication in different regions of babies ' brains responded strongly to various stimuli in a similar way to what happens to resume adult brains. This response to the human voice (cry, laugh, or neutral) revealed an important activity in the regions of the brain, for example, the Middle temporal gyri, the right of the lingual gyrus and medial frontal gyri, patterned again when identifiable adults are resume and listen to these sounds.

The first conclusions indicate that the Sleeping child as young as 3 months, similar to brain processing activities and the responses as an adult awaken. This would mean that my initial disbelief actually proved wrong.

However, these recent findings do not mean that the mystery is solved. The reason for infant Sleeping responding to sounds around them, remains largely unknown. Hypotheses could be that it is because of their hard-wired, alert, or simply that certain brain areas are specialised very early in life. It is even speculated that the terms may learn to distinguish these sounds, while still in womb (and this hypothesis certainly will make many moms and very lucky to be a Daddy, too!)

This research opens up new possibilities for understanding how social communication and emotional speech develops autism, especially to understand what is happening before autism develops. Potentially this would identify the protective factors in children autism vulnerabilities that could hinder the development of this issue.

For most young parents, however, is another element. The next time you think of arguing when the child sleeps, think twice before! Their brain is alert and a list of your signals while you're awake.
