In the first years of the family medical practice, I became aware that my patients were coming to me in fear and anxiety despite receiving maximum therapy with out medical treatment, in particular the treatment of cancer. They were helpless and terrified he of sense and I felt helpless to help them.
I'd like to reduce the fear and suffering to my patients. I wondered if the ways for My patients, less terrified he, helpless and powerless, and in this way would certainly have better results.
I realized also that despite the many strengths of medicine does not contain everything. Certainly the better results will be possible, if the patient gets involved and the sentence will help.
I have taught themselves to understand that there is a whole that diseases and disease-a disease to mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of not only one physical.
Certainly the first priority is to treat and manage disease. However, I found, like many other doctors and therapists have experienced that when a patient also deals with the mental aspects associated with it, and the provision of medical care can significantly reinforced. I discovered that when I had helped my patients, treating their life, they often healed physically.
He wrote several well-known scientists and doctors of their experience in treating the whole disease-
• Dr. Bernie Siegel-formerly general surgeon, who performed a lot of cancer surgery. He noted that about 15% of his patients did better than expected. When he spoke with these patients, the cancer was discovered using the opportunity to focus the healing their life. In 1978 Dr. Siegel began a cancer patient groups (ECaP-exceptional cancer patients)-around the United States, which helps cancer patients become aware of their potential for healing-personal healing and facilitating change their life and healing physically.
• Dr. Deepak Chopra-American Board Certified endocrinologist, who established the Center for spiritual and emotional well-being, and healing in California. Has spoken and written extensively on the relationship between thoughts, emotions and beliefs, and the effects on the physical body. It is at the head and one of the key contributors to mind body medicine.
• Dr. Gabor Mate-one of our own doctors Vancouver, reports in his book "when the Body says no-cost of hidden Stress" many interviews with patients, which is the discovery of the stress patterns. Throughout the book, makes reference to the countless studies that examine the interaction between emotional stress and disease.
To quote from page 60-"rich body of evidence from animal studies and human experience, supports cancer patients ' sensation, (sami) that emotional stress is a major cause contributing to the Trousseau chest.
In contrast to the claims of evidence for Genetics researchers Toronto is not high. Only a minority of young women are at high risk of breast cancer, genetic, and only a minority of young women with breast cancer-about 7%-acquisition of disease for genetic reasons. Even for those who are genetically predisposed environmental factors should be involved, because far from all of one of the three genes that are associated with breast cancer actually develop malignant tumour. In the majority of men and women diagnosed with breast cancer heredity causes little or no. "
... and from page 61-
"A lot of research ... not celebrating that stress is not only a matter of external stimulus, but also the individual responses. There is a real life real people, in which congenital temperament, a story of life, emotional patterns, physical and mental activities and socio-economic support very different ... In most cases of breast cancer, and chronic stress are hidden. They result from childhood experiences, early emotional development and psychological coping styles of the unconscious. They collected over a period of life and make someone sick. "
The above comments Dr Mate to concur entirely with the experience of the body of doctors and Psychologists, which I have been following over the past 15 years or so.
What to do in my practice is, make sure that the patient is getting the ongoing medical care and medical treatment, if appropriate. Approach and then the disease in the wider context of aspects of the mental, emotional, psychosocial/spiritual.
In so doing, often I am able to keep bringing up the patient's knowledge about his life and impact of the hidden, unconsciously held patterns of stress, and includes tools to help in the relief and treatment. Lacking an absolute guarantee of full healing and whether there is a possibility.
Remember that you are the power in your life, to create their own greater health and happiness.
